Community Cleanup Event

  • What: The Community Cleanup Event is a partnership between the City of Saint Paul, Highland District Council, and Macalester-Groveland Community Council. This 1-day event allows residents to throw away and recycle various items at a low cost. Nearly everything is accepted: reusable household goods, tires, electronics, metal, appliances, mattresses, construction debris, household hazardous waste, and more.

    The cleanup is located just off of Shepard Road between Alton and Davern. The above map provides better details of how to reach the site.
  • When: This 1-day event takes place on Saturday, September 24th, from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm.
  • Who: Anyone who lives in Saint Paul is welcome to bring their junk. If you’re a senior or resident with disabilities living in the Highland Park or MacGrove neighborhoods, call 651-695-4005 to sign up for the event’s limited pick-up service.
  • Cost: Depending on the size of the load, the cost is $15 – 30 per vehicle. Some items, such as tires, mattresses, and certain appliances, have additional fees ranging from $3 to $20.
  • Extra Info: Volunteers are still needed! If you work a 3-hour shift, you qualify for a $20 voucher towards material disposal and a free lunch. Call 651-695-4005 or email mgcc@macgrove.org to learn more.
