Cleaning tips that save us time are worth their weight in gold. While we can never truly prevent messes from accumulating, we can minimize them. These tips will only take a few moments out of your day, but will save you hours in the long-run.
Less is More: 5 Minute Cleaning Tips
Buy a Doormat.
Muddy footprints tracked into the house can take forever to clean. (Even more so if you have multiple children, pets, or an oblivious partner.) Stop them, literally, in their tracks by investing in an absorbent doormat. Or, if that’s not doing the trick, consider becoming a shoe-free family.
Clean your Mirrors.
Your home may be clean, but if your mirrors are covered in fingerprint streaks, toothpaste flecks, or other smudges, you’ll never notice. Keep it green by using a vinegar mixture.
Maximize your Dishwasher’s Potential.
If you have one, you’re probably using it pretty regularly. But you can clean, and sanitize, much more than dishes and silverware. Things ranging from shoes to hub caps, toys and garden tools are all dishwasher-safe.
Clean as you Cook.
Few things pile up as quickly as dishes in your sink. When you start cooking, fill your sink with warm soapy water. Place any used pots dishes in there to soak as you eat. Also, wipe up oil and other spills as you go so they don’t get sticky and harder to remove.
It’s common sense, but the less items you have, the less you’ll have to clean. Whether you’re inspired by the KonMari Method, the Minimalist movement, or your own personal motivations, set aside items you don’t use anymore. A quick call is all it takes to have us at your doorstep, ready with an estimate.
