Junk Bonanza: Uniting Collectors and Vendors

We love seeing people unleash their DIY and upcycling creativity. So when we heard about Spring 2016’s Junk Bonanza, we knew that we had to share it with you. Started back in 2006, it’s grown in the past decade to a bi-annual extravaganza. Here are all the details you need for this amazing April event:

Junk Bonanza Spring 2016

  • When: The Spring 2016 Bonanza starts on Thursday, April 21st. Stop by any time between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The event continues on Friday April 22nd and Saturday April 23rd. Doors open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. This indoor event happens rain or shine (or snow!).
  • Where: Canterbury Park will be switching gears from presenting horse races to celebrating DIY, antique, and vintage item vendors. Enter 1100 Canterbury Rd S, Shakopee MN 55379 into your GPS for easy directions. Free parking is available.
  • Who: This is the perfect event for antiquers, junkers, collectors, and flea market lovers. Vendors who specialize in upcycling, DIY, vintage reconstruction, or artisanal items can apply for a space. For a list of Minnesota’s Spring 2016 vendors, click here.
  • What: Along with a bazaar-style shopping space, Junk Bonanza has several fun activities Workshops include a Chalk Paint® demonstration sponsored by Unfolded, a spray painter demo by Wagner Spray Tech, and more.
  • Cost: Tickets are $10 per day, but group pricing is available for 30 or more tickets. Email Krista Belle at kristabelle@kinassauer.com for more information. Early Bird tickets can be purchased online; they give you 2 hours of shopping before the doors open. Kids under 12 can attend for free.

  • Additional Information: If you’re traveling from far away, there are several hotels within a few miles of the event. Food is available on-site.
